Wrapping Up Another Sweet Year

It’s been a little while since I’ve sat down to write, but that’s because life at ABC Academy has been full in the very best way. We’ve been soaking up every last minute of the school year, checking off end-of-year activities, celebrating milestones, and trying to hold onto these little moments before summer arrives.

We recently celebrated our preschool end-of-year celebration (or as my kids still proudly call it… preschool graduation). Every year I hear people say, “Everything has a graduation now,” but when you’ve loved and cared for little ones for years, watched them grow from shy toddlers into confident leaders, and shared so much of their childhood, it feels like something worth celebrating.

This year we kept it simple, sweet, and exactly what preschool should be.

The kids were SO excited.

There’s something magical about preschoolers on performance day. They straighten their clothes, peek around corners, wave at parents, and sing their little hearts out with all the confidence in the world. We sang Herman the Worm, Five Little Speckled Frogs, and This Little Light of Mine—a perfect mix of silly, fun, and sweet. There were smiles, wiggly movements, proud families, and a few moments that made me think, I wish I could freeze this right here.

After our songs, we enjoyed dinner and simply spent time together with our preschool families. Those moments are often my favorite part—not the decorations or the planning, but the conversations, laughter, and watching children run around with the people who love them most.

As one school year closes, I’m already looking ahead to summer.

Around here, summer plans don’t have to be complicated. I’m thinking popsicles melting down little hands, watermelon slices bigger than faces, water play, muddy feet, sunshine, and making memories. The kind of summer kids remember.

Because if preschool has taught me anything, it’s that the biggest moments are usually hidden inside the simplest ones.
