🐰Easter Fun at ABC Academy

There’s just something extra special about Easter week in preschool. The excitement, the colors, the tiny hands exploring every little detail—it’s pure magic. And yes… also a little bit of chaos. The best kind. šŸ’›

This week, our 2s, 3s, and 4s dove right into hands-on Easter fun, and every activity was packed with learning, laughter, and a whole lot of memories.

🄚 Egg Dyeing: Science + Sensory Magic

We started with one of our favorites—dyeing Easter eggs!

With simple materials like food coloring and vinegar, the children got to watch colors transform right before their eyes. There were lots of ā€œoohsā€ and ā€œaahhsā€ as eggs turned bright shades of blue, yellow, and pink.

But more than that, they were:

  • Practicing patience

  • Exploring cause and effect

  • Strengthening fine motor skills

And let’s be honest… getting a little messy too šŸ˜‰

🐄 Baby Chick Process Art

Next came our baby chick art, and this was all about process over perfection.

No step-by-step. No ā€œmake it look like mine.ā€ Just paint, textures, and creativity.

Some chicks were fluffy, some were abstract, and some… well, looked like something only a preschooler could dream up—and that’s exactly what we want. šŸ’›

Because art at this age is about:

  • Exploring materials

  • Building confidence

  • Expressing ideas

🌿 Sensory Table: Easter Edition

Our sensory table was a HUGE hit this week!

We filled it with:

  • Easter grass

  • Plastic eggs

  • Carrots

  • Baby chicks

The children scooped, poured, hid eggs, and created their own little Easter worlds.

Sensory play like this helps with:

  • Language development (ā€œI found a chick!ā€)

  • Social interaction

  • Imaginative play

And it kept little hands busy for a long time šŸ™Œ

šŸ¬ Jellybean Sorting Fun

We added a little math into our day with jellybean sorting!

The kids sorted by color, counted their piles, and of course… taste-tested a few along the way šŸ˜„

This simple activity builds:

  • Early math skills

  • Color recognition

  • One-to-one correspondence

🄚 Egg Matching Game

Our egg matching activity was perfect for all ages in our group.

Each child worked to match eggs by color, pattern, or number depending on their level.

This helped strengthen:

  • Memory skills

  • Visual discrimination

  • Problem-solving

And gave our younger friends a chance to feel successful right alongside the older ones.

šŸ’› The Heart of It All

From our tiniest 2-year-olds to our confident 4s, every child found joy, success, and connection in these activities.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about eggs and crafts…

It’s about:

  • Learning through play

  • Building relationships

  • Creating childhood memories that matter

And yes… going home a little messy, a little tired, and very, very loved.

If you were here, you’d hear the giggles, see the bright colors, and feel the magic that only a preschool Easter week can bring. 🐣✨

And just like that, another sweet week at ABC Academy is in the books—filled with messy hands, happy hearts, and little moments that matter most.

Surrounded by the very best helpers—who showed up, dressed up as the Easter Bunny, and helped capture all the magic this week—I’m so thankful for the people who pour right alongside me.

I’ll be over here with my coffee, soaking it all in… because these are the days. šŸ’›
