Happy Saturday

A rainy Saturday morning in June just feels different.

The house is quiet, the coffee is hot, and there’s something about the sound of rain that makes it the perfect time to slow down, pray, and thank God for another day. Before the busyness begins, those quiet moments with coffee and prayer always help me reset.

Today’s to-do list looks a little different. I’ll be working on proposals for the Arkansas Early Childhood Association Conference this October. This conference is especially meaningful because it’s home. I’ve been honored to present there the last two years, and there’s just something special about sharing ideas with fellow educators from my own state. Here’s hoping I get to do it again this fall!

Summer is absolutely flying by. The girls have been busy at basketball camps, and somehow we’re already looking ahead to conference season, new projects, and back-to-school planning.

Yesterday, Dusty and I celebrated 22 years of marriage. We enjoyed dinner at Craw Billy’s before taking a drive down to the Buffalo River—the place where it all started 26 years ago on a canoe trip. It’s funny how one river can hold so many memories. Twenty-six years later, we’re still complete opposites in so many ways, but somehow we’ve built a life that works beautifully together.

Now it’s back to coffee, a laptop full of ideas, and checking off today’s list… while listening to the rain outside.

Happy Saturday, friends. Slow down when you can. Summer doesn’t wait for anyone.
