Day 2 of Snow Much Fun at Preschool

You know you’re a preschool teacher when your daily workout is dressing and undressing 16 wiggly kids in full snow gear — boots, bibs, mittens, hats, the whole marshmallow squad! 😂

But ohhh it was worth it. Today was pure childhood magic.

We cozied up and read The Snowy Day and talked about Peter’s adventures in the snow. The kids were SO into it — especially the part about the footprints. Which of course led to…

👣 Real snow tracks!

We headed outside and stomped, shuffled, tiptoed, and hopped to see what kinds of footprints we could make. Big boots, tiny boots, dragging feet, jumping prints — we turned the playground into our own storybook page.

Then we brought the snow fun inside…

🎨 Puffy Paint Snow Art

Nothing beats watching preschoolers discover that paint can be fluffy. So much squeezing, swirling, and proud little artists showing off their “snowstorms.”

🪒 Shaving Cream Snow Tracks

Because if you can’t stay outside forever, you bring the snow sensory play to the table! They used fingers, toy animals, and little cars to make tracks — comparing them to the ones we made outdoors earlier. Hello, hands-on literacy connection 🙌

Days like this are why early childhood is the BEST.

Messy tables. Wet mittens. Red cheeks. Big laughs.

And learning woven into every snowy second.
